1 month countdown

I can not believe it is officially less than a month until the wedding!   We have been planning and working on this wedding for the past year and it has snuck up on us faster than I could imagine!!

We have had RSVPs from so many people that live far away... it was a nice surprise that they are coming.  Now if only everyone understood that RSVP means yes and it means no, and that's why you are given two options to select from on the RSVP.  I hate to assume that the people who didn't RSVP aren't coming especially since I have to purchase chairs for everyone that is coming and food and tables, etc.  It's not like the wedding is a church that no matter who shows up there is a place to sit.

This record heat has been a killer on us.  We had to rent a climate control unit to put everything in since it's way too hot to store things in the garage.  We are also starting to stress out that it may still be HOT at the wedding and the actual ceremony is outside.  We are trying to decide if we need a back up plan not only for rain, but for heat too!!

Discounted Rate:            Was originally $85 but those rooms are sold out, the rate is currently $90.   This is my least favorite hotel in Allen.

 

 

7 Weeks To Go!!!

We only have 7 weeks until the wedding.  That sounds like a long time until I look at the list "to do" before the wedding and get a little overwhelmed!!  My goal is to be able to mark at least 1 thing off of that list every day!!

Yesterday I bought the little ones (2 flower girls & 1 ring bearer) all of their wedding attire.  Ms. Tinsley (my great-niece who is only 2 1/2) was quite excited about her "princess dress and shoes".  She is very excited to drop the flowers for the "queen" (Nicole) to walk on.  She is also excited to stand by the "king" (Eric) and watch the queen walking on the pretty flowers.  It should be quite interesting and adorable.

Nicole did her final fitting last week and we get the dress back next week.  She is having bridal photos done in 2 weeks.... I can't wait to see those!!

I mailed all the invitations out last Saturday and by Wednesday I was getting back RSVP's.  I love getting those back so we finally know how many people are coming and how much of everything we need.  So many last minute details!!

Nicole and Eric are looking forward to a busy month of August with so many festivities coming up.  Eric's mom is throwing a cocktail party, then we have bridal photos the following day, then we have a wedding shower with Eric's family, then we have a wedding shower in Claremore with Randy's family, then we have a wedding shower in Dallas with friends and family then bachelor and bachelorette parties.  Luckily Nicole has an amazing partner at her store who traded with her so that she could have every weekend off in August and the 1st three off in September.  She owes her something for sure!!

82 days until the BIG day!!!

I can't believe it's only 82 days until the wedding!!  This past month has been super busy with so many of the little details.  Add to that the fact I am on the road for work, working 17 hours a day, 7 days a week - I am super stressed!!  I keep reminding myself to breath so I will be around for the big day!!

Nicole & Eric have been super busy too.  Both working as many hours as possible so they can save up for the house they are having built.  Their house should be ready for move-in the end of November.  I think buying a new house made them realize what wedding gifts they want the most, the ones they really need for the new house!!  They registered at Macy's and Target, but they also love Lowe's and Home Depot gift cards as they are going to have to purchase a refrigerator, washer & dryer & blinds.  Their lives are going to change drastically over the next few months.

We are doing the final touches on wedding invitations and they will be mailed out in July... seems impossible!!  I can't wait to start getting all the RSVP's back so I know who all is coming... it's going to be a great day for the kids!

4 month count down

I can't believe in less than 4 months my baby girl will be getting married.  It seems like just yesterday she came into this world.  Those 26 years went way too fast for me!  I am so proud of the young lady she has become.  I have to say, when Nicole & Eric got engaged a year ago, 16 months until the wedding seemed like forever.  This past year has flown by even faster than the years before.  Nicole and I have been so busy getting everything ready for the big day and it is quickly approaching.

I wanted to set up a blog for all of the wedding details that many people have been calling us or emailing us to ask.  Soon to come will be hotel information for those of you traveling from out of town (or for those of you who just want to stay closer to the wedding venue), gift ideas, gift registries, venue information and much more.
